Have you ever thought about what show you binge-watch next on Netflix? Do you enjoy romance, comedy, and fantasy? You’re in luck because there is a new exciting K-drama series called My Demon that recently got released on Netflix and has 16 episodes.
The main character Do Do Hee, a powerful CEO, is in jeopardy when her fate intertwines with Jung Won, a powerful entity. When Do Do Hee and Jeong Gu Won meet she is in danger, and as Gu Won is a demon, he comes to save her but with a price. They soon realize that they need each other to survive and find the culprit. If he helps her or anyone else, he makes a deal that he will grant their wish, but after ten years he comes to collect his debt. His debt includes killing them so their souls will be sent to hell.
If you’re wondering why a powerful Demon needs a CEO girl it’s because after he comes to save Do Do Hee, his powers flicker causing him to pull her into the ocean to avoid getting hit by the person trying to kill them. In the water, the tattoo transfers from Gu Won to Do Do Hee when she tries to save and pull him out of the water. This moment is a crucial part of the series because now Do Do Hee must stay alive for the tattoo that holds Gu Won`s powers. Gu Won can still use his power whenever his wrist connects with hers. And Do Do Hee also needs Gu Won to protect her from all the people out to kill her.
Time goes on when Gu Won works as Do Do Hee`s bodyguard and together they try to figure out how to get his tattoo back on his wrist to make him a demon again. If he does not get the tattoo back in time for the full moon he will burn to death and cease to exist. They are also trying to figure out who killed Do Do Hee`s grandma because her cause of death was revealed to be her taking a pill that she is allergic to, signifying that someone intentionally killed her and is now after Do Do Hee.
After the course of a few episodes Do Do Hee and Gu Won realize that they have feelings for each other and confess. They fall in love but still deal with the same problems they have had before, and they face their biggest obstacle yet. Do Do Hee’s killer makes another appearance that not only shakes both antagonists up but also brings them together.
Gu Won starts getting flashbacks from his human life before he turned into a Demon, which is not a good sign because it shows he is getting closer and closer to dying if he does not have his tattoo back. His human past life shows that Do Do Hee was also his lover and they were soulmates who died for love. Now fate has brought them together again in this life, that is why the tattoo transferred so they can meet again as they believe that fate transferred the tattoo to Do Do Hee because she risked his life to save him and to teach Gu Won how to be empathetic and have human interactions.
Overall, this kdrama series was amazing and I loved everything about it. If you love romance, fantasy, and comedy you will love this series, and you should definitely go watch it!
