Francis Lewis continued the tradition of Frannytines Day as the smell of chocolate waft through the halls and heart decorations were displayed throughout the school, reminding students about the excitement of Valentine’s Day.
“Usually the most popular items are the flowers and the sharks,” S.O. member Genesis Kim said. “We carry a variety of colors for the flowers, and since they are the most common gift of Valentine’s Day they are the ones that sell out the fastest.”
“We usually get the person they’re trying to deliver to and the period and class they’re in,” Kim added. “We just deliver on Wednesday, we go to different classes and deliver for each one of them.”
Students often lean towards the traditional Valentine’s Day gift when choosing a gift from the S.O.
”I’ve received a flower from the SO office during class, which is super surprising considering it was in the middle of the class,” senior Shuting Chen said. “I loved it.”
“I think this event is super beneficial to the students, since we’re all students showing love through small gifts is amazing,” Chen said. “When school offers stuff like this, it helps some of us a lot.”
Frannytines does not only encourage students to celebrate the ongoing tradition, but it also helps to bring funding for the school and student organization.
“It is more convenient for students and it also provides volunteer hours for students working in S.O.,” freshman Amelie Martinez said. “And of course, every purchase helps raise money for the school, which is always good.”
