Sam and Colby are popular YouTubers who are known for exploring haunted and paranormal places including hospitals and houses. Their videos have always been popular, gaining many views, for their determination to the videos no matter how complicated or scary the locations are. Recently, to commemorate gaining 10 million subscribers, Sam and Colby recorded and released a series known as the Conjuring Series where they visited and stayed at the Conjuring House (located in Rhode Island).
The series is in 4 parts spanning across 7 days, showing each day and night that they stay at the Conjuring House. Although they have been and filmed at this location before, they never attempted staying at this location for a week. They wanted to have the true experience of the terror the previous homeowners went through while living in that house. Sam and Colby test all the theories of the paranormal experience, while having new guests every episode with them to help test all that had occurred in the whole house but mainly in the basement, cemetery, living area, and the kids bedrooms.
The first episode started off more mellow in which they were introducing the facts of the Conjuring House and the family that lived there before. The Perron family, which consisted of Carolyn Perron, Roger Perron, and their daughters Andrea Perron, April Perron, Nancy Perron, Christine Perron, and Cynthia Perron, were the previous owners of the house. They had talked on the record about their experience when living in the house where they were terrorized by the spirits. Andrea Perron is still alive today and often does interviews to talk about her experience as a kid living in the Conjuring House. We were also introduced to Abigail, the main spirit in the house that protects and warns the visitors in the house.
During the second episode, the investigation began. They brought in a medium, a person who claims they are able to see ghosts and communicate with them. With the help of the medium they were able to figure out more information about the spirits in the house through symbols, signs, and paranormal technology. Sam and Colby also brought two workers, named Cody and Satori, of the Conjuring House where they introduced a new method of communicating with spirits. This method occurs when Cody and Satori hold each other’s wrists and when they do that they can communicate with the ghosts. Satori calls out the alphabet and the spirit will knock to spell out the word they want to communicate with. This method was tested many times with Sam and Colby to ensure that there was no foul play. Furthermore, Sam and Colby also went into the woods to talk to the soldier spirits to see if they can get answers on why the soldiers keep spelling out help during this method.
The third episode Sam and Colby explored the basement, which according to the conjuring owner is where the most paranormal activity happens, and most of it is negative energy. The conjuring house is filled with mainly positive energy spirits, but the graveyard and the basement are the spots with negative energy spirits. Investigating the basement was the well anticipated part of the series as both Sam and Colby foreshadowed this from the first episode, and lots of things happened. To start off, the camera’s battery died multiple times even though both Sam and Colby claimed it was fully drained, which signified that the spirits are draining the energy out of it. There were shadows going back and forth and noises that could not be explained. Both Sam and Colby used their own method to contact spirits through an EMF which worked as they contacted a soldier named Henry. Through this method they learned that they were being lied to from the beginning by the spirits which leaves a larger cliffhanger to the final episode.
The fourth episode Sam and Colby performed an exorcism in the house with a trained professional. To complete this exorcism, they took well water from the basement to call out the spirits in front of a mirror to see if they could snap a picture of them. After the ritual was done, they wrapped up visiting every place, the graveyard, the basement, the two bedrooms of the Perron kids one last time. They also went to different locations to prove that Cody and Satori`s method with the wrists is not being faked.
Overall the series was very interesting to watch and very informative. I really enjoyed watching it and you should definitely watch it if you love paranormal series!
