On Friday, Francis Lewis High School students rallied to celebrate the Earth. Since the outdoor field is undergoing renovations, the event was held in the gym but that didn’t stop the AP Environmental students from pulling out all the stops.
AP Environmental classes (as well as other classes and clubs) held this Earth Day event where they displayed their class projects on how to help save the Earth with fun games and prizes. A dunk tank offered an opportunity to dunk members of the FLHS Swim Team, there were animals that students had the chance to feed and pet, and bingo cards that could be filled after each activity was completed to be entered into a raffle.
Each student enjoyed their time at the Earth Day celebration, whether competing with their friends on some of the games, petting the animals, or learning about the Earth. It is safe to say that this event was a success.
